this is the story of the girl
Hello sweethearts. How's attachments? Clairissa with Dada.. Kakak, Adik and Nat together.. must have lots of beautiful stories to share.. I'm alone.. as usual. hehe.. Claire and dada, i see you guys at CGH next sem. =) My CI is a nice lady. NYP Lecturer Ms Beulah. Very coorporative and builds our confidence. Oh btw, it's my first time working with the Year 1s and i swear one of them got on my nerves all the time.
Since i'm fasting, Emiline and Zeyan does the scolding of *&^%$ for me. So cute but really, that girl thought i was a Yr 1 too. Came up with comments like:
Part 1: The call bell Uncle
HER (early in the morning at 0655 hr) : "Eh, how come you don't know how to ans call bells one ar?!"
ME (devastated): "The call bell in Room 24 is spoilt, that's why it keeps ringing."
HER: "Then you don't know how to pull the call bell wire is it?"
ME: "Then if anything REALLY happens to patient how?!"
HER (in the loudest voice one can imagine): "Haiyo! how come all the nurses in this ward is SO LAZY one."
ME to EMILINE: "You get ready. must help me say that 'F' word soon already.."
Part 2: The Medication Trolley
HER (upon seeing the SSN and i serving medication and looking through the IMR): "Excuse me, i thought we're not suppose to touch the medication trolley?!"
ME (with angst built up like no one's business): " Yes, for Green Nametags like YOU, all you can do is clean the patient's backside. But for Blue Nametags like US, we have to start serving medication. Now excuse me."
HER (surprised, shock but still want to maintain her 'coolness': "Oh ok. Whatever.
SSN: "That junior of yours ar, really got problem you noe. i don't remember you guys with that kinda atitude when you came in here during your Yr 1 days..."
Part 3: The Bedpan vs Urinal
HER (again in her rudest tone of voice): "Excuse me, 21/1 wants the THING for urinating and the THING for passing motion. Which one do i take?!"
SNs & ENs (staring at me in awe): That THING?! *chuckles*
ME: "Just take both la. the URINAL is for urinating *duh* and the BEDPAN is for the bowel la. that also you don't know?!"
HER: "But the bedpan in school don't have handle. so do i take the one with the handle?!"
ME (shaking head): "Why are you so law by law one?! You think everything in school is used here isit?!"
HER (still trying to jaga her pretty face: "Oh.. can i just let him use the bedpan only? Can right?"
ME (laughing): "You try la. See if his urine flow like fountain.. Eh aunty, you think he's female is it? Aiyo.."
SSNs, SNs, ENs, Zeyan, Emiline, Siyu: "Omg.. haha.."
Part 3: The Ryle's tube feeding
HER: " Why did you pour the milk until so full? I thought only 3/4 full?"
SI YU: " Can, up to you. As long as the syringe is not empty can already."
HER: "You sure or not? if caroline see you, you sure die."
SI YU: "huh?"
and when Zeyan told me the story......
ME: "Next time tell her, not everything is by the book. And by the way, Caroline is NOT THE ONLY LECTURER around! And also, what the heck was she doing in B sidE? she's supoose to be in A side what..."
Part 4: The Racial Issue.
EN (in her most gentle and kind manner): "Hey, you look Malay, but your name is Chinese. You have mixed blood isit? not bad..."
HER (in the most snobbish way): "I don't know, up to you to decide."
EN (in disbelief) : "HUh? You don't know your own race? *scratch head*

So other than that, i'm surviving well in the ward. Down with very bad pre-menstrual cramps but i'm doing ok at work. Esp since i've been there before so all the staff knows me. And my CI is ok. I heard stories about Claire and Huda's CI. Evon smsed Zeyan and all.. haha. And it totally makes my day seeing Rahjee and Cui Rong betting on losing weight at the end of every Fridays. They MEASURE what they eat (they don't stop eating la.. they measure only) and they weigh each other after every break. isn't that CUTE?
so you gals take care. Try to keep in touch where possible can? Sms me la. I so lonely...
